Bio:
Dr. Abdul Zakkar earned his Medical Degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 2022. He also completed a postdoctoral research year in 2023 at the University of Illinois at Chicago with a focus on evaluating and refining computer vision machine learning models trained on thoracic CT images. He is currently completing his residency training in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Northwestern Memorial Hospital, McGaw Medical Center with an anticipated completion date in 2028.
Dr. Zakkar’s clinical and academic interests center on advancing radiation oncology practices, integrating modern technology and computational tools to improve patient care, and enhancing clinical usability in oncology reporting. Specifically, he is interested in applying machine learning models trained on images and text to enhance treatment planning, develop prognostic and predictive clinical tools, and streamline patient care.
