Dr. Adam Holtzman is an Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. His clinical expertise and research focus on particle therapy, head and neck cancers, and skull base tumors, with a focus on advancing outcomes through novel radiation modalities. He has led outcomes research in rare and difficult-to-treat malignancies, aiming to optimize the therapeutic ratio and minimize toxicity.


Dr. Holtzman has served as principal investigator and co-investigator on multiple prospective clinical trials, including studies of oropharyngeal de-escalation, hypofractionation, artificial intelligence applications, and tumor methylation biomarkers. He has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications on topics such as sinonasal tumors, adenoid cystic carcinoma, and chordoma, and has co-authored consensus statements and technical reviews in proton therapy.


Before joining Mayo Clinic, Dr. Holtzman directed the Base of Skull and CNS services at the University of Florida Health Proton Therapy Institute. He currently serves as the Florida site lead for the Mayo Clinic Head and Neck Disease Group and as a member of its enterprise executive committee.
