Alejandro González MD, MSCI is a radiation oncologist at the Centro de Tratamiento e Investigación sobre Cáncer Luis Carlos in Bogotá, Colombia. He serves as the vice president of the Colombian Association of Radiation Oncology (in Spanish, Asociación Colombiana de Radioterapia Oncológica – ACRO). He completed his radiation oncology training at the Instituto Nacional de Cancerología in Bogotá. He holds a master’s degree in Epidemiology from Universidad de los Andes and a second master’s in thoracic malignancies from Universidad Alfonso X el Sabio in Madrid. Dr. González has served as a teaching assistant in Harvard’s PPCR program. His research focuses on stereotactic radiosurgery, prostate cancer, economic health, and optimizing radiotherapy techniques. His work has been recognized with multiple academic awards, including the Harvard PPCR “Outstanding TA” distinction and academic honors from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. He has conducted visiting scholar rotations at UCSF and MD Anderson and was a neurology trainee at Johns Hopkins University. His current interests include image-guided techniques, hypofractionation, and access to radiotherapy in Latin America.
