Alexis Narvaez Rojas, MD
Dr. Narvaez-Rojas is a physician resident at Maimonides Cancer Center, SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, New York. He completed a General Surgery residency and specialized training in Therapeutic Gastrointestinal Endoscopy in Nicaragua and Cuba. He also completed a Society of Surgical Oncology-accredited fellowship in Breast Surgical Oncology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine/Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Narvaez is currently pursuing additional training to become a dual-trained oncologist. He has authored over 100 publications and serves on the ASTRO/ARRO Communications and Advocacy Subcommittee and the Resident/Fellows Committee of the American Brachytherapy Society. His primary interests in radiation oncology include brachytherapy, adaptive radiation therapy, radiopharmaceuticals, stereotactic ablative radiotherapy, and stereotactic radiosurgery, with a focus on breast, central nervous system, and genitourinary cancers. Additionally, he actively contributes to research in surgical oncology, oncoplastic surgery, and breast cancer.
