Amar Rewari, MD, MBA, FASTRO is a national leader in radiation oncology policy and payment reform, serving on ASTRO's Board of Directors as Chair of the Health Policy Council and as ASTRO Advisor to the AMA RUC Committee. He works with industry partners as Chair of ASTRO's Corporate Relations Committee and Corporate Advisory Council, and is an organizer of the annual ASTRO Coding and Coverage Seminar and an editor of ASTRO's coding manual.
Dr. Rewari is Chief of Radiation Oncology for Luminis Health and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where he was appointed an Affiliate Scholar of the Hopkins Business of Health Initiative. He is a founder and co-host of the award-winning Value Health Voices Podcast, whose guests have included Ezekiel Emanuel and Mark Cuban. He is also one of the specialty's most visible public voices, with more than 200 national media placements elevating the visibility of radiation oncology in outlets including NBC News, Time, USA Today, People, and LIVE with Kelly and Mark, and has written an op-ed on cancer screening for Slate.
He began his career in the HealthCare group at Credit Suisse and in the Office of the Chairman at Aetna.
Dr. Rewari received his MD and MBA from Yale University and completed his radiation oncology residency at Rutgers University, where he was named Chief Resident and received the Dean's Research Award and ASTRO's highest award for clinical research. He was also selected for ASTRO's inaugural class of Health Policy Fellows.
