Anran Zhao is a second-year M.S. student in medical physics at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA, where he trains clinically in the Department of Radiation Oncology. He received his B.S. in physics from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA, with a second major in computer science and a minor in data science. As an undergraduate, his research spanned quantitative MRI analysis and high energy particle physics. His current interests include spatially fractionated radiation therapy and applications of artificial intelligence in radiation oncology. Following completion of his degree, he plans to pursue a medical physics residency and a clinical career.
