After completing his residency in Radiation Oncology at the Instituto Nacional de Câncer (INCA), Arthur moved to Salvador, Brazil, in 2003, where he played a key role in implementing advanced radiotherapy technologies in the region, including IMRT, IGRT, Radiosurgery, and SBRT. His leadership in northeastern Brazil led to an active role within the Brazilian Society of Radiotherapy, where he served as Board Member, Vice President, and President, and currently remains a member of the Board.
Arthur has also been deeply involved in international radiation oncology initiatives through ASTRO, serving in the International Education Subcommittee as Vice Chair and Chair of the Latin American Chapter. He currently serves as ASTRO Ambassador to Brazil, strengthening collaboration and educational exchange between Brazilian and international radiation oncology communities.
In addition, he was actively involved in the development and formalization of the Latin American Federation of Radiation Oncology Societies (SOLAR), contributing to greater regional integration and cooperation across Latin America.
From 2019 to 2021, Arthur held an executive leadership position as Director of Radiation Oncology at Grupo Oncoclínicas, the largest oncology network in Latin America. He currently practices at Oncoclínicas Salvador – Hospital Santa Izabel, with special clinical interests in breast cancer, genitourinary oncology, thoracic malignancies, head and neck and CNS tumors.
