Ashonti Wright MD Candidate Northeast Ohio Medical University Cleveland, OH, United States
Ashonti Wright is a medical student at Northeast Ohio Medical University currently completing a dedicated clinical research year at the Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cancer Center as a Melvin Markey Clinical Research Scholar. Her academic interests include radiation oncology, head and neck oncology, cutaneous oncology, immunotherapy outcomes, and translational cancer research.
Her current work focuses on cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC), including studies involving circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA), immunotherapy response, and disease outcomes in immunocompetent and immunosuppressed patient populations. She has contributed to multiple clinical research projects and scientific presentations examining prognostic biomarkers and treatment outcomes in advanced skin cancers and head and neck malignancies.
In addition to her oncology research, Ashonti has participated in auditory neuroscience research through the NEOMED Hearing Research Group. She earned her undergraduate degree in neuroscience from Hiram College prior to matriculating into medical school through the Hiram–NEOMED partnership program.
