Catherine Drovetsky is a medical student at the University of Maryland School of Medicine with interests in oncology, radiation oncology, and clinical research. She received her BA in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Cancer Biology from the University of Chicago, where she conducted translational research in prostate cancer, studying mechanisms of treatment resistance and tumor immune escape. Her undergraduate research contributed to two publications and a senior thesis. Prior to medical school, she worked as a clinical research coordinator at the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she coordinated clinical trials involving patients with peripheral artery disease. At the University of Maryland, her current research in radiation oncology focuses on treatment-related outcomes in patients with prostate cancer, including the comparison of urinary toxicity following different brachytherapy boost techniques.
