I'm currently pursuing my PhD at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in collaboration with the Heidelberg Ion Beam Therapy Center (HIT), where I got the amazing opportunity to work on the frontiers of heavy ion therapy. With a background in physics from Heidelberg University and a long-standing fascination with particle therapy, I’ve deliberately shaped my academic path to contribute to heavy ion radiotherapy research.

My research focuses on ultra-high dose rate (UHDR) oxygen ion irradiation—pushing synchrotron performance and dosimetric precision to new extremes. After validating our dosimetric approach, we conduct both in vitro and in vivo experiments to investigate biological effects under these novel conditions. Alongside the experimental work, I worked on refining a mechanistic Monte Carlo simulation framework UNIVERSE to better model the radiobiological impacts of UHDR ion beams.
