Chaewon Hwang, MD is a PGY-5 and Co-Chief Resident in Radiation Oncology at Tufts Medical Center and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA, graduating in 2027. She earned her BS in Molecular Genetics with Honors in Research from the University of Rochester and her MD from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Driven by a commitment to patient-centered care, she is pursuing academic medicine with a focus on health outcomes research using real-world data, with an eventual goal of interventions-driven and patient-reported outcomes research. Her work has been recognized with the 2026 GRASP Advocate Choice Award at the ASCO Annual Meeting 2026, chosen by patient advocates and cancer survivors for its potential to improve patient outcomes, and the 2026 RSNA Roentgen Resident/Fellow Research Award for outstanding contributions to research.
She has a growing clinical interest in thoracic malignancies, breast cancer, hematologic malignancies, and sarcoma, and her efforts are dedicated to bridging evidence-based treatment with individualized care to ensure accessible and innovative cancer therapy for all patients.
