Dr. Chee Kin Then is a Resident in Radiation Oncology at Shuang Ho Hospital, Taiwan, and concurrently serves as Assistant Professor at the Graduate Institute of Clinical Medicine, Taipei Medical University, where he also directs the Core Laboratory of Human Microbiome. His clinical and academic work centres on harnessing gut microbiota and dietary interventions to enhance radiotherapy efficacy while mitigating treatment toxicity. Dr. Then completed his Doctor of Medicine at Taipei Medical University, followed by an MSc by Research and a DPhil in Oncology at the University of Oxford, the latter supported by the prestigious Clarendon Scholarship. He has received multiple accolades including Best Presentation awards at Oxford and King's College London, and First Prize at the Inter-hospital Resident Research Paper Competition. Prior to his current appointments, he trained within the Cancer Research UK–funded DNA Repair in Cancer Treatment Group at Oxford. His research focuses on the interplay between gut microbiota, dietary fibre, and tumour radiosensitivity, with over 20 peer-reviewed publications in journals including Microbiome, BMC Biology, and Cell Death & Disease, and active grants from Taiwan's National Science and Technology Council.
