Christopher J. Anker, MD is a professor of radiation oncology at the University of Vermont, where he serves as Associate Director for the gastrointestinal cancer (GI) team. He previously served as an associate editor for the GI section of International Journal of Radiation Oncology* Biology*Physics, and he serves as a GI Abstract Reviewer for the ASTRO annual meeting. He is a frequent contributor to national cancer treatment guidelines documents, including the ASTRO Gastric and Rectal Cancer Guidelines as well as guidelines for the American Radium Society (ARS).
Research interests involve a focus on quality of life, including cancer treatment de-escalation with the goal to improve patient-reported outcomes (PROs) while maintaining oncologic control. Additional areas of expertise include cutaneous oncology, lung cancer and neuro-oncology.
