Cosmin Ciausu, PhD, MS

Cosmin Ciausu received a Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence from Boston University in 2022. From 2022 to late 2024, he worked in the Surgical Planning Laboratory in the Department of Radiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, focusing on AI applications using open-source cancer imaging datasets hosted in the Imaging Data Commons.


He is currently a Ph.D. student in the Artificial Intelligence in Medicine Program at Mass General Brigham, under the supervision of Hugo Aerts, Ph.D., and Raymond Mak, M.D. In parallel, he works in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital under the supervision of Jeremy Bredfeldt, Ph.D., where he develops and deploys AI solutions for clinical use.


His work focuses on medical imaging AI-based segmentation, foundation models, and tumor segmentation, with an emphasis on translating AI methods into practical oncology workflows.
