Cynthia Martucci is a third-year medical student at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. She graduated from Emory University in 2022, where she developed an early interest in pediatric oncology and translational cancer research. During her undergraduate training, she was awarded the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) POST grant to conduct research at the Children’s Cancer Therapy Development Institute and later served as a Jackson Laboratory Summer Student. Cynthia subsequently spent two years working at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, contributing to multiple publications in hematologic malignancies and cancer biology research.

Most recently, Cynthia completed the Memorial Sloan Kettering Pipeline Program Fellowship between her first and second years of medical school. Although she was only recently introduced to the field of radiation oncology, she has developed a strong interest in the role of technology and innovation in improving cancer care and patient outcomes. In recognition of her growing commitment to the field, she was selected as a recipient of the 2026 ASTRO Medical Student Fellowship Award. She hopes to pursue a career in academic radiation oncology with continued involvement in translational and outcomes-based cancer research.
