Darien Colson-Fearon, MD, BS
Darien Colson-Fearon is a fourth year medical student at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She was born and raised in Prince George’s County, Maryland, and graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2019, with a bachelor’s degree in neurobiology and physiology. She continued her studies post-graduation, earning an MPH from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, with a concentration in biostatistics and epidemiology. Darien’s research focuses on mitigating disparities in cancer screening, diagnosis, and care. She has presented her work at numerous conferences, including both the American Psychiatric Association’s and the American Brachytherapy Society’s 2023 annual conferences. Darien’s passion to pursue Radiation Oncology has been cultivated by both personal and professional experiences. As a caregiver for sick family members, and a clinical trainee, she has encountered firsthand the disparities that exist in cancer treatment and diagnosis. She strives to use her education to promote equity in clinical oncology through research and practice, and will be applying to residency in Radiation Oncology this fall.
