Dennis N. Stanley, Ph.D., DABR is a board certified therapy physicist at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and practices at the Hazelrig-Salter Radiation Oncology Center in downtown Birmingham, Alabama. He currently serves the head of the adaptive radiation therapy and radiation safety programs where he strives to develop high quality standards/procedures for excellence for patient care that can be implemented in radiation oncology clinics worldwide. His research interests are centered on surface and image guided radiation therapy, daily online adaptive radiation therapy, therapeutic applications of 3D printing, automation in treatment planning, and the clinical implementation of new technologies. His teaching interests focus on incorporating new teaching paradigms and strategies into the education of medical physicists and physicians. Outside of work, Dennis is a husband to a second-grade teacher, Rachel, and father to a crazy four-year-old boy and two-year-old girl. He enjoys spending his free time with his family, golfing, training for triathlons, watching his SMU Mustangs, enjoying his growing whiskey and bourbon collection.
