Eduardo Lovo, MD

Dr. Eduardo Lovo is a neurosurgeon and radiosurgeon based in San Salvador, El Salvador, where he serves as Medical Director of the Centro Internacional de Cáncer and Director of the Gamma Knife Radiosurgery Program at an ISRS-certified center. His career has focused on stereotactic radiosurgery, neuro-oncology, functional radiosurgery, and the integration of advanced imaging and connectivity-based targeting into clinical practice.
He completed his neurosurgical training at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and later pursued advanced training in neurosurgical oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Over the past two decades, he has helped develop radiosurgery programs in Central America, including Gamma Knife in El Salvador and CyberKnife in Costa Rica.
Dr. Lovo has authored more than 35 scientific publications and has presented internationally on radiosurgery, brain tumors, functional neurosurgery, pain, movement disorders, and image-guided targeting. His current research interests include radiosurgical neuromodulation, connectomic targeting, treatment of refractory pain and movement disorders, and strategies to expand access to high-precision radiosurgery in Latin America.
