Edwin M. Posadas, MD, FACP, is Professor of Medicine and Urology at Cedars-Sinai Health Sciences University, where he serves as Medical Director of the Centre for Uro-Oncology Research Excellence (CURE) and Co-Leader of the Cancer Therapeutics Program at Cedars-Sinai Cancer. He also serves as Co-Chair of the Research Committee of the RTOG Foundation. He is a medical oncologist whose clinical practice focuses on genitourinary malignancies, particularly advanced prostate cancer. His clinical research centers on the use of systemic therapies to improve outcomes in genitourinary malignancies, with a focus on prostate cancer, where his interests range from the integration of systemic therapy into multidisciplinary care of early-stage disease to the management of refractory and metastatic disease. His translational laboratory investigates the biology of cancer metastasis, using prostate cancer as a principal model with an emphasis on liver metastasis. This work spans nuclear architecture and the role of the nuclear-envelope protein emerin in aggressive, lineage-plastic disease, as well as the development of circulating tumor cell and extracellular vesicle platforms for liquid-biopsy diagnostics.
