Dr. Troschel is a resident physician in radiation oncology at Münster University Hospital and a clinician scientist in the Radiation Biology laboratory at Münster University. During his medical studies at Münster University, he spent a research year at Massachusetts General Hospital and completed clinical rotations in New York, Boston, and Houston. His main scientific interest is to understand therapy resistance mechanisms in cancer with an emphasis on the cancer stem cell hypothesis and associated DNA repair signaling. Much of his research has focused on the relevance of the Musashi RNA-binding proteins for the radiation response in cancers of the female and in hematologic malignancies.
