Gregory Szalkowski, PhD, is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Stanford University. He specializes in brain and spine treatments using the CyberKnife® robotic radiosurgery system and manages both benign and malignant lesions. His career focuses on advancing workflow and quality improvement in radiation oncology, with particular emphasis on applying artificial intelligence and machine learning to enhance treatment planning, delivery, and safety.


Dr. Szalkowski earned his PhD in medical physics from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2019 and completed his residency in radiation oncology physics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Stanford is his first faculty appointment. He is an incoming member of the ASTRO Multidisciplinary QA Subcommittee and a guest member of the AAPM Quality Assurance and Outcome Improvement Subcommittee.


His research explores the integration of AI-driven methods into clinical workflows to improve efficiency and treatment accuracy.
