Dr. Kawaguchi is an Assistant Professor at Kobe University Hospital, specializing in radiation oncology. He obtained his graduate degree in Radiation Oncology from Kobe University Graduate School of Medicine. Throughout his career, he has trained and practiced at Kobe University Hospital, Hyogo Cancer Center, and Kobe Minimally Invasive Cancer Center, focusing primarily on the management of head and neck cancers as well as hematologic malignancies. Since 2014, he has served as a member of the Hematologic Malignancies Committee of the Japanese Radiation Oncology Study Group (JROSG). Within this role, he has been actively involved in nationwide surveys investigating the practice of total body irradiation (TBI) in Japan. His research has contributed to advancing the understanding of non-myeloablative transplantation with TBI, culminating in peer-reviewed publications. In addition to his clinical and research activities, he continues to play a key role in the development of national clinical guidelines for radiation therapy in hematologic malignancies. Through his academic and professional work, he remains committed to improving patient outcomes and fostering evidence-based practices in radiation oncology.
