Homayoun Ghaseminezhad is a third-year medical student (Class of 2028) at Loma Linda University School of Medicine, where he is interested in matching into a neurosurgery residency. He currently serves as Student Board Representative for the San Bernardino County Medical Society. He earned his BS in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from Simon Fraser University, where he spent the majority of his time conducting organic chemistry research in Dr. Vance Williams' Laboratory, synthesizing dibenzophenazine amide derivatives for liquid crystal materials applications that contributed to peer-reviewed publications in Molecules. He has since contributed to clinical research in radiation oncology under the mentorship of Dr. Sara J. Hardy at the University of Washington/Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. In surgical oncology, he conducted a retrospective cohort study of over 25,000 solid tumour patients examining demographic and social driver predictors of emergency department versus non-emergency cancer diagnosis. He has also led additional large-scale retrospective database studies examining outcomes in facial trauma and spine surgery patient populations.
