Hugh is a third-year radiation oncology registrar in the South Australia/Northern Territory training network, currently serving as the Senior Registrar. He graduated in medicine from the University of Adelaide in 2020, and completed his internship and resident years at various clinical sites across Adelaide and Darwin. He then commenced radiation oncology training in the SA/NT network in late 2023. His interests include all tumour streams, with a particular focus on paediatrics and palliative treatments, and he is committed to being part of the ongoing effort to bring proton therapy to Australia. He previously presented a poster on the dosimetric benefits of proton therapy at the Paediatric Radiation Oncology Society Congress meeting in Sydney 2024, as well as the Central Adelaide Health Network Cancer Program Research Exchange, and the SA Cancer Clinical Research Symposium. His current work, presented at ASTRO 2026, audits proton therapy access for Northern Territory paediatric cancer patients, identifying systemic gaps in equitable access to proton therapy for relevant paediatric patients, particularly in remote and Indigenous populations.
