Ijeoma grew up in Nigeria and earned her medical degree from the University of Benin.
Throughout and following medical school, she actively participated in various public health
initiatives, including a breast cancer screening program held in Benin City. Her clinical
experiences were complemented by involvement in non-profit organizations and global
health efforts. After gaining clinical experience in Nigeria, she relocated to the United
Kingdom, initially serving as the first on-call doctor responsible for managing acutely ill
patients in a private hospital, before transitioning to a role within the National Health Service
(NHS). At the NHS, she served as a senior house officer in internal medicine, caring for a
diverse patient population. During this time, she participated in a quality improvement
project aimed at enhancing efficiency and safety in bronchoscopy and endobronchial
ultrasound for patients on anticoagulation therapy. Ijeoma has long been interested in
oncology, her passion for radiation oncology has further deepened during her time at the
University Cancer and Blood Center in Athens Georgia during her transitional year. Outside of
medicine, Ijeoma enjoys spending quality time with family and friends. She finds joy in
jogging, dancing and embraces life with a consistently positive outlook
