Jacky Nyamwanda, CMD, PhD

Dr. Nyamwanda is an expert medical dosimetrist at MGH and director of the M.S in Medical Dosimetry at Suffolk University. A lifelong learner, she recently completed her PhD in Health Professions Education at Simmons University. Her dissertation was a qualitative study on the experiences of medical dosimetry preceptors with preceptorship. Dr. Nyamwanda is passionate about teaching and mentoring students to prepare them for successful careers in medical dosimetry. Clinically, she currently focuses on breast treatment planning while helping students understand the fundamentals of 3D conformal treatment planning. Throughout her career, she has been involved in research projects and is a contributing author on several publications. Dr. Nyamwanda also previously worked for CMS Inc./Elekta in an applications specialist role that exposed her to radiotherapy practice in different parts of the world. She is a long-term volunteer and past co-chair of the AAMD Formal Education Committee (FEC) and is also serves on the board of directors of the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB).
