Jamison Brooks, PhD
Jamison Brooks, PhD, is a medical physicist in the Department of Radiation Oncology at a Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota. He earned his PhD in Medical Physics from the University of Minnesota, where his doctoral research investigated quantitative imaging of tumor vasculature and radiation-induced changes in preclinical leukemia models.
Dr. Brooks’s current work centers on the development and prospective clinical implementation of machine-learning–based quality-assurance tools for organ-at-risk segmentation in radiotherapy planning. He has designed a multi-model QA framework combining statistical shape analysis, contour-to-contour relationship metrics, and deep autoencoder anomaly detection to analyze contours for head and neck radiation therapy.
He is the author of multiple peer-reviewed articles in Frontiers and in the International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, Physics, and has presented his research at AAPM, ASTRO. His ongoing projects include extending automated QA methods for radiation oncology and improving the consistency of auto segmentation algorithms.
