Dr. Bruening is a board-certified otolaryngologist, head and neck surgeon and fellowship trained in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and is currently an Assistant Professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. She completed her Otolaryngology residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in the T32 research track, where her research focus was on the impact of the immune system on head and neck cancers. After residency, Dr. Bruening completed dual fellowship in Advanced Head and Neck Surgical Oncology and Head and Neck Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, OR. Dr. Bruening has a special interest in minimally invasive techniques and robotic assisted surgery, as well as reconstructive surgery. Her research interests include quality improvement, outcomes improvement and HPV-related oropharyngeal cancers.
