Dr. Jiaye Shen is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Her research focuses on comparative outcomes and cost-effectiveness of prostate cancer treatments, including radiation therapy and active surveillance, using SEER-Medicare and other large national datasets. She investigates how different treatment strategies impact patient trajectories, healthcare utilization, and long-term complications.

Trained in health policy and advanced data analysis, Dr. Shen applies real-world evidence to evaluate clinical effectiveness, access to multidisciplinary care, and health equity in oncology. At KUMC, she contributes to multiple projects examining variations in care delivery and the outcomes of prostate cancer management under different insurance structures and clinical settings.
