Dr. Lucas is currently appointed as an Assistant Member in Radiation Oncology at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.


His research interests include late effects of cancer therapy in children, proton therapy, molecular and pathological characteristics of rare tumors and implications for management and treatment, imaging biomarkers as clinical trial endpoints and the use of machine learning techniques for disease prognostication and classification. He has published over 60 primary manuscripts and presented at national and international conferences. He currently serves as a co-investigator or primary investigator on several cooperative group and institutional clinical trials focused on novel treatments in pediatric brain, solid tumor and lymphoma patients, as well as interventions to mitigate late effects in pediatric cancer survivors.
