Juliane Hörner-Rieber is chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology of University Hospital Duesseldorf in Germany. Her main clinical and research fields of expertise include image-guided high precision radiotherapy with respect to which she is the PI of several on-going clinical trials. Her research further focuses on stereotactic radiotherapy, the advancing field of personalized radiation oncology as well as novel radiation techniques and concepts, particularly in the treatment of breast and lung cancer patients. She is a member of the German AGO Breast Cancer Guideline Committee and serves as a Core Expert in the ESTRO Focus Group SBRT. Juliane Hörner-Rieber earned her medical degree from Heidelberg University and obtained her doctorate at the Department of Pediatric Oncology of the German Cancer Research Center. During her studies, she was a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation, and her postdoctoral research was supported by the “Rahel-Goitein-Straus-Program” as well as the “Olympia-Morata-Program” of the Heidelberg University Faculty of Medicine.
