Kareem Wahid, PhD, is a fourth-year medical student at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. He earned his BS in physics and mathematics at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley before matriculating into the UTHealth Houston Medical Scientist Training Program. His PhD in Quantitative Sciences, supported by an NIH F31 fellowship, focused on developing computer vision methods to improve head and neck cancer radiotherapy. He subsequently completed a two-year NIH T32 postdoctoral fellowship in Image Guided Cancer Therapy at MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he contributed to multidisciplinary cancer care and investigated human–machine interaction in artificial intelligence. Dr. Wahid has served on the Radiology: Artificial Intelligence Trainee Editorial Board and is currently an Associate Editor for Physics and Imaging in Radiation Oncology. He has been recognized with accolades including the RSNA Honored Educator Award, the Radiology: AI Editors’ Recognition Award, and the MD Anderson Trainee Peer-to-Peer Mentor Award.
