Kundan Thind obtained his PhD in 2013 from University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, specializing in the use of hyperpolarized 13C to probe in-vivo metabolism for detecting and monitoring radiation-induced injury. He currently serves as the Division Head of Physics, and Vice Chair of Academics in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Henry Ford Health, Detroit, Michigan. His academic contributions extend to his roles as an associate professor at both Wayne State University and Michigan State University. Before his tenure at Henry Ford Health, Dr. Thind was associated with the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada, where his work centered on the implementation and research of imaging and informatics. He is recognized as a fellow of the Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine, underscoring his commitment to the advancement of medical physics. Dr. Thind is interested in the innovative use of imaging and natural language processing, and has received multiple institutional and industry grants towards development and early implementation of imaging and artificial intelligence in technologies in radiation oncology.
