Dr. Lu Cao was a radiation oncologist and associate professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Ruijin Hospital, Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine, Shanghai, China. Her primary research interests included clinical investigations on radiotherapy for breast cancer and gynecological tumors, as well as basic and translational research on radiation-induced cardiac toxicity. She also served as the sub-PI in the registration clinical trial of the China Proton Therapy System (SAPT-PS-01), the first proton therapy facility developed in China.
