Dr. Luis Larrea obtained his medical degree and “Cum Laude” PhD from the Medical School at the University of Valencia, Spain. He completed his Radiation Oncology training at “Hospital Clinico Universitario” in Valencia, Spain.


Dr. Larrea is the Chief of the Radiation Oncology and Radiosurgery Department at Hospital Vithas Valencia Consuelo, Spain.



Dr. Larrea was the President of the “Sociedad Española de Radiocirugía” from 2006 to 2014 and he is the current Vicepresident. He was the founder of the “Sociedad Latino-Iberoamericana de Radiocirugía” and currently serves as a board member.



He has special interest in extreme hypo-fractionation in Radiation Therapy and Immunotherapy. He was the first Radiation Oncologist in Spain to use SRS (1983) and SBRT (2001) in the treatment for early and metastatic Lung Cancer and other diseases. Dr Larrea has been recognized by the Radiation Oncology and Radiosurgery societies of the Spain for his large contribution implementing the newest technologies in Radiation Therapy in his country, including SRS and SBRT for cancer treatment



Dr. Larrea is board certified in Radiation Oncology. He is member and serves on several committees at Sociedad Latino-Iberoamericana, Sociedad Espanola de Radiocirugia, SEOR, ASTRO, ISRS, RSS, ABS and IASLC. He is member and has served on several QA committees in Spain. He has given numerous oral presentations and lectures in lung cancer in national and international meetings in Europe, North America and Latin America.
