Mark Newpower, Ph.D., DABR is a Faculty Medical Physicist and Lead Proton Physicist at OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center, where he also holds an appointment as Assistant Professor. He is board-certified by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) in Therapeutic Medical Physics. Since joining the OU faculty, Dr. Newpower has specialized in proton therapy, with a particular focus on proton arc therapy and developing a deeper understanding of variable relative biological effectiveness (RBE) and its clinical application — an area of growing importance as proton centers move toward more sophisticated delivery techniques. He earned his Ph.D. from The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2019 and completed his therapeutic medical physics residency at OU in 2021.
