Dr. Masaki Matsuda is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Therapeutic Radiology at the University of Yamanashi, Japan. He received his MD from Shinshu University School of Medicine in 2014 and is a board-certified radiation oncologist and cancer treatment specialist in Japan.
His clinical and research interests focus primarily on lung cancer and stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT). His research includes the long-term outcomes of SBRT for stage I lung cancer and shared decision-making using decision aids for patients with early-stage lung cancer. He is also interested in how regional and institutional factors influence treatment selection in cancer care, particularly for early-stage lung cancer.
Dr. Matsuda is actively involved in the Japanese Society for Radiation Oncology (JASTRO), including its Under 40 Committee, and received the JASTRO 2025 Best Presentation Award. His research aims to improve evidence-based, patient-centered decision-making and optimize radiation therapy for patients with early-stage lung cancer.
