Matt Manning is a radiation oncologist in Greensboro, North Carolina. He grew up in Northern Virginia and earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry at The College of William and Mary. Dr. Manning went on to medical school and residency at Virginia Commonwealth University. Since 2001, he has worked at Cone Health Cancer Center. He has served as the medical director of radiation oncology with a practice emphasis on brain tumors and prostate cancer. He has served on his hospital medical executive committee and ACO operations committee. Dr. Manning is a graduate of the Center for Creative Leadership’s Physician Leadership Academy. He has completed the Physician Leadership Program with Health Management Academy. He performs research on stereotactic radiosurgery and brachytherapy. In 2016, he received the Association of Community Cancer Centers’ Innovator Award for work on reducing oncology cost. In collaboration with the Greensboro Health Disparities Collaborative, he has also co-authored studies to eliminate racial disparity in cancer care. He is now chief of oncology for Cone Health.
