Dr. Bakhtiar is a PGY-5 medical resident in the Harvard Radiation Oncology Program. Her clinical interests include the management of head and neck, gyn, and CNS malignancies. Dr. Bakhtiar worked at the National Academy of Medicine and completed a career-changer post-baccalaureate premedical program at Johns Hopkins University before attending the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Bakhtiar is also passionate about health services research; her work on substance use disorders among cancer patients was selected for a health policy grant through the Mass General Brigham Centers of Expertise. In 2024, she received the ASTRO Emerging Advocacy Grassroots Leadership (EAGL) award. During her PGY-4 research year, Dr. Bakhtiar developed expertise in the application of liquid biopsy and its relationship to artificial-intelligence (AI) extracted imaging biomarkers. Her research interests include the integration of precision tools to improve risk stratification and optimize patient selection for radiotherapy.
