Mintra Keawsamur, PhD is a Medical Physicist and Lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand. She is board-certified through the Thai Radiation Oncology Medical Physics (ROMP) program, where she also received the Excellence Award (2019–2020). Her clinical and academic work focuses on proton therapy, image-guided brachytherapy, and the development of treatment planning and quality assurance guidelines for advanced radiotherapy. Dr. Keawsamur received her PhD in Medical Physics and Biology for Ion Therapy from Gunma University, Japan in 2018, supported by the Japanese Government’s Program for Cultivating Global Leaders in Heavy Ion Therapeutics and Engineering, and earned her MSc in Medical Imaging from Chulalongkorn University. She is a 2022 recipient of the SEAFOMP Young Leaders Award. Prior to joining the faculty at Chulalongkorn, she served for a decade as a medical physicist at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, where she led commissioning and quality assurance of the Varian ProBeam proton therapy system in accordance with AAPM TG-224, and completed clinical fellowships at CNAO in Italy and the Paul Scherrer Institut in Switzerland. Her research focuses on proton planning guidelines for liver and pancreatic cancers, surface-dose correction in proton scanning therapy, Monte Carlo versus pencil beam dose comparison, and in vivo dosimetry for 3D gynecological brachytherapy.
