Nicholas Lum is an MD Candidate at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, with research interests in radiation oncology, cancer survivorship, and breast cancer-related lymphedema. He is involved in clinical and outcomes-based oncology research through Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, with a focus on supportive care, quality of life, and treatment response in cancer survivorship populations. His current work includes investigations evaluating predictors of response to complete decongestive therapy in patients with breast cancer-related lymphedema, as well as systematic reviews and retrospective studies in radiation oncology and renal cell carcinoma.
Nicholas has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications and national conference presentations. In addition to his academic work, he is actively involved in student leadership and healthcare advocacy. He currently serves as Vice President Finance of the Ontario Medical Students Association (OMSA), where he has contributed to organizational operations and coordinated provincial advocacy initiatives, including OMSA Day of Action, which brings together medical students and policymakers to address healthcare challenges across Ontario.
Nicholas hopes to pursue a career in radiation oncology with a continued focus on survivorship and patient-centered cancer care.
