Nicole Munoz is an incoming MS Candidate at the University of Texas MD Anderson Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. As a research assistant at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, she investigates the impact of radiotherapy on sexual function outcomes in women with gynecological cancers. She is the only undergraduate to receive the MAP Foundation’s Sexual Tipping Point Award and the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health (ISSWSH) Scholars Grant. Her research focuses on quantifying radiation doses to female genitopelvic structures and correlating dose metrics with sexual function outcomes. Nicole is a recent graduate of New York University where she received the College of Arts & Science Alumni Award, the Shirley Schmones Wallach Prize, and was a recipient of the Dean’s Undergraduate Research Fund Grant. At MD Anderson, she hopes to continue addressing patient-reported outcomes through innovative research as a physician-scientist.
