I’m a post-doctoral fellow at Mass General Brigham and Harvard Medical School. Since the start of my PhD, I’ve been trying to help better understand the effects of radiation therapy on normal tissue. The overall goal of my research is to reduce the side effects of radiation without lowering its impact on the tumor. However, I have little to no experience in the wet lab, and I therefore contribute using my background in mechanistic modeling. I represent biological phenomena with mathematical equations which are then translated into computer code. This allows for fast(er) and cheap(er) hypothesis testing and generation. My current research focuses on radiation-induced brain necrosis, where I hope to provide valuable insights into patient outcomes for both conventional photon and proton therapies.
