Oscar Peng is a DDS/MS candidate at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and an NIH NRSA TL1 Fellow with the UCSF Clinical & Translational Science Institute. His research focuses on applying clinical data science, epidemiology, and machine learning to better understand oral-systemic health relationships and improve outcomes in oncology and dental care. Working through the UCSF Bakar Computational Health Sciences Institute, his current work explores how dental electronic health record data can be leveraged to predict radiation therapy toxicities and identify opportunities for earlier intervention in high-risk patient populations.
Oscar’s broader interests include translational informatics, health equity, and the integration of artificial intelligence into clinical decision-making and dental education. He has presented research at national meetings including IADR/AADOCR and has received multiple awards for research and scholarly achievement, including first place honors at the UCSF Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics Student Research Day. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with honors from the University of Southern California, where his undergraduate research focused on craniofacial biology and regenerative medicine.
