Patrick Carriere, MD, PhD
Dr. Patrick P. Carriere hails from Baton Rouge, LA, where he completed his undergraduate studies in biology, earning a Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State University. He then worked as a cancer research assistant at Xavier University of Louisiana before pursuing graduate training at Morehouse School of Medicine, where he obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Carriere earned his medical degree from Wake Forest School of Medicine and completed a transitional year internship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and MD Anderson Cancer Center.
He is currently a PGY-3 resident in the Division of Radiation Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His professional interests include patient-centered outcomes research, health disparities, predictive biomarkers, and the immunologic effects of radiation therapy. Dr. Carriere has a long-standing passion for mentorship and is dedicated to supporting aspiring physicians from historically underrepresented backgrounds.
He resides in Houston, TX, where he enjoys spending time with his wife and son, along with pursuing his hobbies in photography, traveling, and playing basketball.
