Piero Bettoli, MD, MSc, is a Radiation Oncologist at the Instituto Nacional del Cáncer and Clínica Dávila in Santiago, Chile. He trained in Radiation Oncology at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and earned a Master’s degree in Advanced Radiotherapy from Universidad de los Andes through the IAEA program, later joining the program’s faculty. Dr. Bettoli completed a Clinical-Research Fellowship in Genitourinary Malignancies and Brachytherapy at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, University of Toronto, where he received the ACURA Award for his project on MR-Linac–guided ultrahypofractionated prostate radiotherapy.
His clinical and academic practice focuses on genitourinary cancers and oligometastatic disease, with particular expertise in HDR brachytherapy and stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT). He has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, contributed to national prostate cancer guidelines, and is actively engaged in medical education. Dr. Bettoli is committed to advancing sustainable oncology care models in Latin America by integrating innovation, precision radiotherapy, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
