Rafael Hernandez is a third-year medical student at Thomas Jefferson University. He received his Bachelor of Science from Florida International University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Rafael’s research interests include novel treatment therapies, medical education, and healthcare disparities. He has participated in research examining the relationship between antidepressant use and cardiovascular symptoms, the use of the term “athlete’s heart,” and cochlear dose and hearing preservation in patients with vestibular schwannoma. Beyond research, Rafael is interested in radiation oncology and cardiology and hopes to pursue a career that integrates clinical medicine, research, and education. He plans to continue contributing to research that advances patient care and medical education within these fields.
