Dr. Boggula is a Senior Medical Physicist at Karmanos Cancer Center and Assistant Professor in the Department of Oncology at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. He is certified by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Medical Physics and earned his M.S. and Ph.D. in medical physics from the University of Heidelberg in Germany. His clinical career spans Germany, New Zealand, and the United States.
He serves as Communications Chair for the Society of Directors of Academic Medical Physics Programs and as a reviewer for the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Physics Education Programs. His research focuses on artificial intelligence in radiation oncology, including large language model based autonomous treatment planning and adaptive radiotherapy. He also founded one of the largest professional proton therapy communities on LinkedIn, with more than 9,500 members.
