Dr. Raphael William is a Radiation Oncology resident physician at the University of Ottawa. His career focuses on the application of advanced radiotherapeutic techniques, aiming to integrate multidisciplinary approaches to optimize safety and efficacy in complex oncology and cardiovascular cases. He earned his M.D.C.M. from McGill University’s Faculty of Medicine and an Honours Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from the University of Ottawa. His academic and clinical work has been recognized with numerous honours, including the CARO-CROF Pamela Catton Summer Studentship, the CARO Mentorship Research Award, and the Best Oral Presentation on Brachytherapy for a Resident or Fellow at the 2023 CARO Annual Meeting. His current research investigates long-term toxicity and health-related quality of life following high-dose-rate prostate brachytherapy, the preservation of left ventricular systolic function following repeat Stereotactic Arrhythmia Radioablation (STAR) treatments, and radiotherapy accessibility across different healthcare systems. His scholarly work has been presented at major international conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals, including Brachytherapy and Canadian Family Physician.
