Rim El Annan, MD is an incoming postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She earned her medical degree from the American University of Beirut (AUB), graduating in the top quartile of her class after completing a Scholarly Concentration in research. During medical school she pursued radiation oncology through clinical electives and observerships at AUB, MSK, and MD Anderson Cancer Center, and built a research portfolio spanning breast oncology, hematologic malignancies, and health systems in conflict-affected settings. Her breast cancer work centers on de-escalation of axillary management, including a systematic review and meta-analysis of axillary surgery in sentinel node–positive disease after neoadjuvant therapy, which she is presenting at ASTRO 2026. She has additional projects on oncology care delivery amid Lebanon's layered crises and on quality of life in patients with myeloproliferative neoplasms, along with several peer-reviewed manuscripts and national and international conference presentations. Beyond research, she co-founded Little Doctors, a national health-education initiative for underserved students, and served as vice president of AUB's Care Clinic, helping raise over $40,000 and extend free primary care to more than 550 patients. She is a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society and a 2026 recipient of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Student Service Leadership Project Grant.
